Samson killed a lion with his bare hands, and Daniel was spared from being killed by lions when he was thrown in a lion’s den. Others in the Old Testament were not so fortunate. How many instances can you find of people being killed by lions in the books of I and II Kings?
Answer: In I Kings 13, a prophet called “the man of God out of Judah” was killed by a lion as he traveled home because he disobeyed the commandment of the Lord. In II Kings 17:25, we read about the people who were transplanted in the land of Israel by the Assyrians after they carried away the northern kingdom of Israel into captivity. These newcomers did not fear the Lord so He sent lions among them.
